Andy Rock, PMP

cropped-Linkedin_Profile_Picture-min.jpgCurrently living in Seattle, Andrew was born in Portland, Oregon, to Christopher and Debra Carpenter and received the nickname of Andy from his great-grandfather.

Raised in the Portland-metro area, Andrew was dual-enrolled in Sam Barlow High School and the charter school: The Center for Advanced Learning. While in high school, Andrew was a 12-sport athlete, performing in cross country, winter track, track & field, swimming and water polo. Andrew was also a member of the school choir, theater, and the thespian club, as well as a competitive, tournament-bound, summer water polo program. Andrew graduated in June 2008 obtaining his high school diploma with honors and a large sum of collegiate credit hours from The Center for Advanced Learning.

After graduation, Andrew attended the University of Oregon (UO). While at UO, Andrew worked in multiple roles with various companies and was involved in multiple fundraising events for the UO LGBTQIA club, the UO swim team, and the UO racquetball club. In spring 2012, Andrew competed against over 400 other student athletes in the National Collegiate Racquetball Tournament in Tempe, Arizona. While learning as a full-time student, Andrew also played a key role as the aquatics director of Courtsports Athletic Club, as well as the private skills trainer for a local, mentally handicapped children. Andrew graduated in September, 2013 with a bachelor of science in human physiology, a bachelor of science in sociology, and a minor in business administration.

After graduating from UO, Andrew moved to Seattle to pursue a career in project management. He obtained his project manager certification through the University of Washington in May of 2017 and obtained his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI) in July 2017.

Andy is currently employed as a senior consultant with Bridge Partners Consulting. He is also the current Marketing Chair for North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA).

Andy married his husband, Ben, in August 2018 in Seattle, Washington, where they live in their home with their two greyhounds and cat. White picket fence installation coming soon!

In his spare time, Andy enjoys reading, playing video games, playing softball, drawing, traveling, learning and discussing mixology and futurology, socializing with friends, networking, constructing self-led research and study, and pursuing new and exciting opportunities, volunteering with others to make the Seattle community brighter and more diverse. Andrew loves adventure and will almost never say no to a spontaneous weekend road trip or hike, or simply coffee/tea at a local shop.
